What is responsible gaming and why does it matter?

GameHub's Approach & Commitment

Responsible Gaming means treating gaming as a mindful, controlled form of entertainment — not a path to addiction or financial hardship. Online gaming continues to grow in popularity across Bangladesh, and GameHub believes that as a responsible platform, it's our duty to give every player the right information and tools to play with awareness.

Gaming is meant to be fun. But when someone keeps playing to chase losses, hides their gaming from family and friends, or dips into household money to fund it — it stops being entertainment and becomes a problem. Responsible gaming exists to help prevent exactly that.

Responsible gaming at GameHub isn't confined to a single section — it's built into the very foundation of our platform. From registration through every transaction, we put our users' wellbeing first.

The three core pillars of GameHub's responsible gaming policy

  • Awareness: Helping players stay aware of their own behaviour and recognise warning signs early.
  • Control: Providing practical tools like deposit limits, time limits, and self-exclusion that players can use on their own terms.
  • Support: Quick, non-judgmental support for anyone who's run into trouble.

We believe that with the right information and tools, most people can game responsibly on their own. Our job is to make that as easy as possible.

Our Safety Tools

GameHub gives you full control over your own gaming experience

Set a Deposit Limit

Set your own daily, weekly, or monthly deposit limits. Limits take effect immediately once set. If you increase a limit, the change only kicks in after 7 days — so you won't make impulsive decisions in the heat of the moment.

Session Time Limit

Decide how long you'll play each day before you start. When the time is up, GameHub will automatically end your session. This helps prevent wasted time and supports a healthier lifestyle.

Cooling-Off Period

If you need a short break, set a cooling-off period of 24 hours to 30 days. During this time you won't be able to log in, but your account will remain fully active.

Self-Exclusion

If you need a longer break, you can self-exclude for anywhere between 6 months and 5 years. During this period, account access will be fully suspended and no promotional messages will be sent.

Loss Limit Setting

If your losses exceed a set amount, your session will automatically stop. This feature acts as a strong financial safeguard.

Reality Check

At set intervals, a message will appear on screen showing how long you've been playing and how much you've won or lost — keeping you aware of where things stand.

How do I set limits?

Secure your gaming in just a few simple steps

1
Log in to your account

Log in to your GameHub account and click the profile icon in the top right corner.

2
Go to "Responsible Gaming" Settings

From the profile menu, select the "Responsible Gaming" option.

3
Choose your preferred limit

4
Set Amount & Duration

Enter the right amount and duration based on your budget and schedule, then confirm.

5
Takes effect immediately

Lowering your limit takes effect immediately. Increasing it requires a 7-day waiting period for your protection.

How to Recognize the Signs of a Problem

If any of the following apply to you, it's time to take notice

  • Chasing losses by playing repeatedly to win back money
  • Hiding your gaming from family or friends
  • Using household or emergency funds for gaming
  • Feeling restless or irritable when not gaming
  • Gaming feels more important than work, study, or sleep
  • Gaming with borrowed or loaned money
  • You've tried to cut back on gaming but can't

Self-Exclusion — how does it work?

Self-exclusion is the most effective step you can take to protect yourself

1
Make a Decision

Whether it's your own decision or on the advice of someone close to you, choosing to take a break is not weakness — it's a courageous step.

2
Go to Settings

Go to account settings, select "Self-Exclusion", and choose your preferred duration (6 months–5 years).

3
Instant Effect

Your account will be locked as soon as you confirm. No promotional emails or messages will be sent during this period.

4
Come Back Healthy

To reactivate your account after the period ends, you'll need to contact Support. We'll make sure you're genuinely ready before proceeding.

Important Information for Parents

GameHub strictly does not provide services to anyone under 18. That said, we understand that if you have underage children at home, it's completely natural to have concerns as a parent. Here are some practical tips to help.

Keep your device locked with a PIN or password so your child can't easily access it. Never share your GameHub account password with anyone. Enable parental controls on your phone or computer. Have open conversations with your child about their online activity.

If you believe your child or someone you know is misusing our platform, support@gamehub-baji.comto reach us. We'll act promptly.

Gaming vs. Gambling — Know the Difference

Many people treat "gaming" and "gambling" as the same thing, but understanding the difference is important from a responsible gaming perspective. Gaming as entertainment means enjoying yourself within a set budget — accepting that both wins and losses are a normal part of the experience. Problematic gaming begins when you're no longer playing in hopes of winning, but chasing losses to recover money you've already lost.

GameHub's Reality Check feature helps you understand that difference. By taking regular breaks and reviewing your stats, you can see for yourself where your gaming is headed.

Financial Planning & Gaming Budget

Financial planning is the most important part of responsible gaming. Set aside a dedicated gaming budget — money you can afford to lose without it affecting your daily life. The rule is simple, but sticking to it isn't always easy.

  • It's recommended to spend no more than 5% of your monthly income on gaming.
  • Never use emergency savings, your children's education fund, or rent money for gaming.
  • Never play using a credit card or borrowed money.
  • Set a deposit limit on GameHub at the start of each month — it's the most effective way to stay in control.

The Role of Family & Friends

Sometimes the people closest to you notice a problem before you do. If you're worried about a loved one's gaming habits, talk to them with empathy, not judgment. Work together to find a way forward. GameHub's support team is also available to assist family members.

Remember — problematic gaming is a behavioural health issue, not a moral failing. With the right support, it's entirely possible to overcome.

Frequently Asked Questions About Responsible Gaming

Answers to the questions we hear most often

Yes, lowering your deposit limit takes effect immediately. However, increasing your limit requires a 7 business day waiting period for your safety — this is in place to prevent anyone from impulsively raising their budget in the heat of the moment.

Your account balance remains completely safe during self-exclusion. You'll be able to withdraw your funds when you reactivate. You can also make a withdrawal before activating the exclusion if you prefer.

We're unable to close an account on a third party's request due to personal privacy. However, if you contact our Support team, we can guide you on how to help your loved one. Encourage the person involved to set up self-exclusion or limits themselves.

You can set your own Reality Check intervals — every 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 2 hours. Each check will show your session duration, total bets placed, and net result.

GameHub's support team can provide initial assistance. For more serious concerns, we recommend speaking with a mental health professional or counselor. You'll find more information on this at our Help Center.
